Wilt Chairs, Set of 6

Mid 19th century, Prince Edward Island

A rare set of six Windsor style Wilt rodback chairs with H stretchers, shield shape single board birch seats and bamboo style turnings. Two are in original red and black paint (I have had a single armchair in the same red paint) and four are basic black. The Wilt family made chairs near Souris PEI from the beginning of the 19th century.
