A rare Quebec sidechair in the
Louis XIII manner dating from the 1720 period. In birch, with excellent turnings in the stretchers and balusters as well as a shaped crest rail and chamfered back legs with cube where stretchers meet the legs. Recessed paneled seat for original upholstery. In excellent refinished condition, warm patina. Reference Early Furniture of French Canada, Jean Palardy, plates 268, 273.
