Louis XIII Capucine Armchair
Quebec, early 18th century
A classic Quebec “fauteuil” with recessed arms (for those flowing 18th century dresses),
exceptional turnings, and shaped back splats in the Capucine manner. Many of these chairs
have been found in religious institutions or were used in aristocratic families of the day.
Old, possibly original, rush seat in very good condition.
One rung replaced, refinished.
